Mounting Options

There are several ways to mount a flat-panel TV or monitor. Here’s a quick rundown of each style and what it’s best for — click any heading to shop that type.
Flat Wall Mounts
The most common and least expensive option. Keeps the panel closest to the wall — roughly 1.25" to 2.5" away.
Tilting Wall Mounts
The next step up. Lets you tilt the panel up or down (typically 12–15° downward) and usually sits 2.5"–3.5" from the wall. Choose tilting if the TV will be mounted high or you’ll look up at it.
Full-Motion (Arm / Articulating) Wall Mounts
Arm, articulating, full-motion, cantilever — all the same idea. The panel extends away from the wall and swivels left/right plus tilts, then folds back close to the wall. The most versatile (and priciest) option; depths range from 1.6" to 7", so check the closed depth if you want it tight to the wall.
Ceiling Mounts
Hang the panel from the ceiling on an adjustable mast (extensions available for longer drops). All of ours tilt up/down and rotate 360°.
Desk Mounts
Remove the monitor’s stand and clamp or bolt the mount to your desktop. Single- and dual-display models available.
Under-Cabinet Mounts
Hang a small panel (10"–15") below a cabinet to save counter space; some fold up for storage.
Floor Stands
Freestanding, furniture-style stands that don’t attach to the wall or floor; most include shelves for your AV components.
