Vaulted & Angled Ceilings

On a vaulted, cathedral, or A-frame ceiling the angled plate takes up the slope so the mast hangs plumb and the screen sits level. Pick it on any built-to-order mount here.

Not sure of your pitch? Call 800-585-8795 and we will size the plate with you.

Unistrut Channel

The unistrut adapter bolts to standard strut channel, the common answer for commercial rooms, bars, gyms, and clinics. Pick it on any built-to-order mount.

Two Screens, One Mount

We build three two-screen layouts: back-to-back for aisles, double-wide side-by-side, and a stacked column. Each hangs from a single ceiling point.

Tell us the room and the screen sizes at 800-585-8795 and we will point you to the right one.

High Ceilings

For warehouses, gyms, and atriums a telescoping mast reaches 71 inches, and you can add 1-1/2 inch NPT pipe and couplers past that for any height.

Measure ceiling to screen center, then call 800-585-8795 and we will build the exact drop.

Low Ceilings

In rooms with standard or short ceilings a no-mast or short-mast build keeps the screen tucked up and out of the way. Most of these mounts can hang flush.

Not sure how low you can go? Call 800-585-8795.

Steel Beams

The beam clamp grabs the flange of an exposed steel beam, so there is no drilling and no welding. 11BC001 is the beam clamp we reach for first.

Send a photo of your beam to 800-585-8795 or sales@videomountstore.com and we will confirm the fit.

Truss Mounting

For exposed truss in retail, houses of worship, and event spaces a truss adapter clamps onto the chord so nothing gets drilled. The mount hangs plumb below it.

Tell us your truss size at 800-585-8795 and we will match the clamp.

Fold-Up Mounts

The flip-down mount drops the screen for viewing and folds it back up flush when you are done, handy in kitchens, RVs, and tight rooms. Call it a fold down TV mount or a flip down TV mount, it works the same way.

Dental Operatory

The dental operatory mount tilts a full 90 degrees so a reclined patient looks straight up at the screen. It fits screens up to 42 inches.

Wood Structure

Most ceilings are wood, and every mount here lag-bolts into a joist or blocking. This is the standard way to hang a TV from the ceiling, and it is what we ship for by default.

New to it? Call 800-585-8795 and we will walk you through how to hang a TV from the ceiling.

How to hang a TV from the ceiling

Do you have motorized or pull-down mounts?

Not at this time. Our ceiling mounts are fixed or manually adjustable, not motorized. If you need a motorized or pull-down lift, call 800-585-8795 and we will point you to an option.

A TV ceiling mount hangs a flat panel from a pipe that drops out of the ceiling, where a wall will not do the job. Call it a ceiling TV mount or a ceiling TV hanger. Ten of these are built to order: a plate, a mast, and a head for your TV.

What can I mount to: drop ceiling, joist, or steel?

These mounts anchor to the structure above the finished ceiling, never to drywall or ceiling tile alone. Wood joists take the flat plate; strut channel and exposed steel take a unistrut adapter or beam clamp.

Can I mount a TV on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?

A flat plate will not sit flush on a slope. Cathedral, vaulted, sloped, slanted or angled, no matter what you call it, an angled or cathedral ceiling mount holds the screen plumb on pitches to 83 degrees.

How far down will the TV hang?

Drop is measured from the ceiling to the center of the mount's hole pattern, never flush. Telescoping masts adjust in 1-inch steps. Past 71 inches, stack pipe with couplers and extensions.

Will it fit my TV?

Screens from 10 to 90 inches. Each product page lists its VESA hole pattern. Keep in mind that most screens fit, but not every one.

Two screens? See the double ceiling mounts, the flip-down folding mount, or the 90 degree dental mount. Everything runs on 1-1/2 inch NPT pipe (also written 1.5 inch NPT), so ceiling plates, pipes and heads interchange. Not sure which plate or mast your room needs? Call 800-585-8795 and we will spec it with you.

Drop is measured from the ceiling plate to roughly the center of the screen. The drop ranges shown aren't fixed steps: hang it flush ("No Mast"), choose a preset mast, or combine 1-1/2" NPT extension pipes for any length in between, or past 71" for tall commercial ceilings. You pick the exact drop on the product page.

The whole system runs on industry-standard 1-1/2" NPT pipe: plates, masts, and extensions all interchange and are sold separately, so the mount you buy today reconfigures for the next job.

Straight answers

Sloped, vaulted, or cathedral ceiling: will the TV hang straight?

Yes, that's the angled/cathedral plate's whole job. It takes up the slope so the mast hangs plumb and the screen sits level. Pick it on any BUILT TO ORDER mount, or tap [Angled / Cathedral] above.

Commercial job on unistrut or a suspended grid?

The unistrut plate bolts straight to standard strut channel. Spec or volume question: call 800-585-8795 and read us the screen list.

Built to order, doesn't that mean slow?

No. Your configuration is assembled from stocked aluminum-and-steel components and ships same or next business day. It's an assembly step, not a manufacturing lead time.

How do I pick a mast drop?

Measure from the ceiling to where you want the center of the screen. Masts adjust inside their range, close is good enough. Stuck between two lengths? That's a two-minute phone call.

Ceiling taller than a 74" drop? (warehouse, gym, atrium)

74" is the longest single mast, not the limit. For more, pick No Mast and build any length from 1-1/2" NPT pipe and couplers, or add a 10", 20", or 30" extension (each comes with its own coupler) to a standard mast. Everything uses the same industry-standard 1-1/2" NPT thread, so it stacks to whatever height you've got. Not sure how many pieces to combine? Call us or contact us with the ceiling height, 800-585-8795, or email sales@videomountstore.com.

Two or more screens?

Three ways: Back-to-Back dual, 32 to 88", from $219.95 | Double Wide side-by-side, 32 to 55", from $269.95 | Double Stack for 2+ screens from $299.95, the one with the beam-clamp option. Bars, gyms, and signage live here.

It's midnight / the line's closed. Now what?

The chips above are the same questions we'd ask you on the phone, your build still ships same or next business day. Or email a photo of your ceiling to sales@videomountstore.com; we answer those too.
