The 33FD001 folds down from the ceiling with one difference that changes where you can use it: the TV folds forward, stowing with the screen facing the ceiling. Because it hinges down right at the mount instead of swinging out into the room, the TV ends up exactly where you installed it. That is what lets it work at the edge of a patio, gazebo, or pergola, or right in front of a window or door.

Mount it at the edge of a covered patio and the screen comes down at the edge, not out over your seating. Mount it indoors in front of a window or a doorway and the TV drops close to the wall, then folds back up flat against the ceiling when you are done, with only the back of the TV showing from the room. Folding mounts that stow the screen facing down fold the other way, so the deployed TV hangs out in the middle of the room. Whether you call it a flip down TV mount, a fold up TV ceiling mount, or a pull down TV ceiling mount, the 33FD001 puts the TV where you want it and folds it out of the way when you are done.

Designed and made in the USA. We design our mounts and have them built here in the United States, not imported.

  • Fits TVs from 35 to 70 inches.
  • Fits VESA mounting hole patterns up to 600 x 400 mm.
  • Adjust how many pounds of support are needed for any TV up to 100 lbs.
  • Height adjustable in 50 mm (1.97 in) increments.
  • The mount extends only 9 inches down from the ceiling when retracted.
  • Pull adjustable length strap to fold TV down

This mount attaches your television to the ceiling and hinges it down for viewing. It is a good fit where wall mounting is not an option and you want to fold the TV up out of the way when it is not in use.

  • At the edge of a patio, gazebo, or pergola: Mount it at the edge and the screen drops right there, not out over your seating, then folds up flat against the ceiling to stay out of the weather.
  • In front of a window or door: The TV drops close to the wall for viewing and folds back up flat when you are done, so it never blocks the opening.
  • Deploys in place: Because it hinges down right at the mount instead of swinging out, the TV ends up exactly where you installed it, not hanging in the middle of the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the TV move up and down?
By hand. Pull the strap and the TV hinges down for viewing; lift it back up and it folds flat against the ceiling. Gas struts carry the weight of the TV, up to 100 lbs, so it moves smoothly and holds its position. There is no motor.

What TVs does it fit?
Screens from 35 to 70 inches, up to 100 lbs, with VESA mounting patterns up to 600 x 400 mm. The support is adjustable to match the weight of your TV.

Will it fit a TV smaller than 35 inches?
Usually, yes. If the TV's VESA pattern fits the rails, the mount works fine. We advertise 35 to 70 because smaller screens can look a little lost on it, but that's an aesthetics call, and it's yours to make.

My TV's mounting holes sit low or off center on the back. Will it still work?
Yes. We custom make adapter rails for TVs with low or offset hole patterns. If your TV is within our advertised size range and the standard rails do not fit, we make and ship the custom adapter rails free. Ask the site assistant in the bottom right corner of the page or call 800-585-8795.

Can I use it with a 75 inch TV?
The mount is advertised for 35 to 70 inch screens. Many 75 inch TVs can work using our custom adapter rails, as long as the TV is under 100 lbs. Since 75 inches is past our advertised range, the adapter rails are $5, ordered as the Custom Adapter Rails item, plus a little more shipping that calculates automatically at checkout. Send us three numbers: your TV's height, its VESA mounting hole pattern, and how far it is from the top of the TV down to the top mounting holes. Making the rails usually takes a day or two, occasionally up to 2 weeks.

Can I install it outdoors?
Covered patios, gazebos, and pergolas are among the most popular uses. Fold the TV up against the ceiling to keep it out of the weather when you are not watching.

Can I mount it at the edge of a patio, or in front of a window or door?
Yes, and this is one of the best reasons to choose this mount. Because the TV folds forward and hinges down right at the mount, the screen comes down where you installed it. At the edge of a covered patio, the TV stays at the edge instead of hanging over the seating area. Inside, mount it in front of a window or doorway and the screen drops near the wall, not out in the middle of the room. Folding mounts that stow the screen facing down cannot do this.

How far down does the TV come for viewing?
When the TV is folded down, the top of the screen sits at least 8 inches below the ceiling. Add your TV's height to estimate where the bottom of the screen will land. Height is also adjustable in roughly 2 inch (50 mm) increments, so you can fine tune the viewing position.

Which way does the screen face when the TV is folded up?
The screen faces the ceiling. From below you see only the back of the TV, and the screen is protected from dust, sun, and weather. Most fold down and drop down mounts stow the TV with the screen still exposed to the room; the 33FD001 hides it completely.

Where is the 33FD001 made?
It is designed and made in the United States. We designed this mount and have it manufactured here rather than importing it.

VESA mounting pattern

VESA is the spacing between the four bolt holes on the back of your TV. Screen sizes are a guideline - any TV whose bolt pattern fits this mount and whose weight is under the rating will work, even if the screen is larger.
