TV mount for slanted wall or angled wall

Mount a TV on a slanted wall in an attic room or A-Frame house. The calculator below will gather a few measurements and propose a set of parts to build a TV mount for an angled wall. This is really a ceiling mount with an angled ceiling plate, a pipe and a mounting head to fit your TV. It can be designed where the TV covers the ceiling plate that is mounted to the structure, or it can extend down so the screen can be angled left or right.

The parts for this build

These are the plates, heads and pipes this mount is built from. Pick them yourself, or call 800-585-8795 and we will put the build together with you.

Common questions

Will I be able to precisely center the TV left and right on my wall?

Since the angled ceiling mount plates do not span across 2 ceiling joists/rafters you are limited to mounting only where there is structure to attach to. If left to right centering is critical verify where your structure is located, that is where your TV will be centered.

What measurements are needed and why?

The screen height, the drop from the top edge of the TV down to the top mounting hole, and the VESA pattern height, which is the vertical distance between the top and bottom mounting holes. Measure the TV itself. Do not trust the spec sheet. For more information on how the position is calculated see this blog post: How to find where the TV will end up.

How does the 33CE008HEAD slide up the pipe?

Since the pipe passes all the way through the 33CE008HEAD and the head rotates freely around the pipe, we can include the 11FC External Height Adjustment Collar which can be tightened down anywhere along the pipe to support the mounting head.

Can the TV tilt down?

Yes. The mounting heads tilt, and the TV tilt drag on the drawing shows exactly how tilt changes where the screen lands. On a steep slope a small downward tilt can let the TV sit higher without the top corner touching the ceiling.

How much weight will this hold?

The build's weight rating is the lowest rated part in it, shown under the parts list, so the number updates as you change parts. If your TV is close to the limit, call 800-585-8795 and we will check the fit with you.

How do I know if this will fit my TV?

There are two factors: the screen size and the mounting-hole pattern. A head can be too small for a large screen, or it may not support your TV's VESA hole pattern, and the head's card tells you which. Compare the VESA hole pattern your TV has against what the mounting head will fit and make sure the weight of your TV is below the rating of the mount build.

What if my ceiling is flat?

This calculator is for slanted or angled walls and ceilings. For a flat ceiling or a drop ceiling, use our TV ceiling mount configurator, which builds a mount with many more options.
